Capedry Retail Expanding to Gauteng
At Capedry we have a few different departments each responsible for their own projects, tasks and goals. As most of you know, our main business and focus is the export of our Dried Fruit products, which we’ve been doing for the past 28 years.
Since 2016 we’ve started to build-up a division, which we refer to as our Retail department. They are primarily responsible for the local sales, both packed in our Capedry brand and bulk (unpacked products).
This department initially started with only three people, then 15, but quickly grew to a family of 28. Everything was packed by hand for the first 2 years, but our capacity was soon reached, and we bought our first packing machine.
Each month we set a new goal in terms of kg’s and units, based on averages of the past 3 years and we are proud to say that our Retail department has reached a new personal best in October 2019. At the same time, we also started to roast & salt our own Almonds, Cashew’s and Brazil nuts, we also imported a few mixed containers in 2019 and this enables us to provide better quality products at more competitive prices.
In February 2020 we grew a little bit more and opened a very exciting new Johannesburg Depot. This Depot will be responsible to spread Capedry Retail’s wings and will service clients in Gauteng and neighbouring provinces and countries. The whole team is very excited about this new challenge and we are ready to explore new markets and to provide a broader community with our Dried Fruit from origin and other products at affordable prices.
A big thank you to our excellent team for their hard work every day, but also to our local customers for keeping us busy. We appreciate your support.
