IS IT REALLY THIS TIME OF THE YEAR YET?!

Last week we started with the pruning of our Peach and Apricot trees on our farm, La Providance, located just behind our factory in Montagu.

The pruning process involves removing certain unnecessary parts of the trees, such as unnecessary branches, buds or roots as well as deadwoods and leaves.

The main reasons for this process is:

• Shaping fruit trees

• Improving and maintaining health

• Reducing risk from falling branches

This process can control growth when it is done properly and stimulates the formation of fruit buds for the following season. The productivity and longevity of fruit trees also depends on how well they are pruned and the amount of attention that is given to the trees.
